VICKIE TOWNSON, PCC

Coaching since 2001, I worked initially with a diverse group of clients providing coaching on many life transitions.
I now specialize in coaching women in midlife and Boomer couples who are ready to create a new and vibrant chapter in their life. My clients include "empty-nesters", those retired or nearing retirement, those changing careers, and those simply yearning for something more.
Through coaching, my clients begin to see themselves in a new light and are supported through the challenges that come with change.
With greater self-awareness and confidence, my clients create a new life chapter that is inspired by their vision, built on their strengths,
and aligned with their values.
I also understand the importance of my clients' spiritual needs in their life journey and it is an implicit part of my coaching.
In addition to individual and group coaching, I regularly deliver
seminars and workshops.
I especially enjoy being part of women's retreats and my workshops can be adapted for the theme of the retreat.
For additional support, I developed the website
http://www.boomers-active-and-alive.com.
The site provides information and resources for living live fully.
I began my own new chapter when I chose to change careers to become a life coach. My earlier training and experience was in the legal field.
Feeling dissatisfied, I explored new opportunities and found my vocation in life coaching. It is a career that is soul-satisfying and honours my value of
making a difference in people's lives.
On the professional side, I am a graduate of The Coaches Training Institute in California and its certification course (CPCC). I earned the designation of Professional Certified Coach (PCC) through the International Coach Federation (ICF). The ICF sets the standards and
Code of Ethics for the coaching profession. I am a member of the ICF and currently serve on the Board of the Ottawa Chapter. I am also a licensed Third Age Coach through The Center for Third Age Leadership and part of its coaching team.
I have had the fun of being a guest on Rogers Daytime Show. My articles have been published in "Up-Date", a publication of the Ottawa
Human Resources Professionals Association, and "Fifty-Five Plus". I was "tickled pink" when my article "Who's The New You In Retirement?" won the
2008 National Mature Media Award of Merit.
On a personal note, I enjoy the out-of doors - skiing, golfing, walking, and enjoying the beauty of nature. Residing in Ottawa,
Ontario gives me the advantage of being close to all my favourite activities. I am married to my best friend, Bill, who became part of our
family after my daughter, Jennifer, and I had been on our own for many years. My extended family now includes Bill's two daughters, their husbands, six grandchildren and Jennifer's husband, Will.
